TOUR NUMBER: WPS37
5-Day Fly in Serengeti, Ngorongoro & Tarangire Luxury Safari
Each year, during the Great Migration period, enormous herds of wildebeest and their entourage congregate on one side of the Mara River. It may take a while (sometimes up to a few days) before one brave individual dares crossing the river, the rest will then follow suit. More than 1.5 million wildebeest trek from the Serengeti to the Masai Mara and back in search of fresh grazing. Their crossing of the Mara River is the climax of this odyssey, a spectacle filled with drama, death and endeavour and one of the Tanzania’s best safari experiences.
Day 1:Northern Serengeti National Park
You will fly from Zanzibar Airport at 08:00hrs and arrive in Serengeti at 10:50hrs. After greetings, he will give you a short pre-safari briefing and then embark on a game drive in Northern part of Serengeti National Park with packed lunch for a chance to see the great herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles or a pride of lions lounging in the shade. The Serengeti, one of the largest parks in Africa at 15,000 sq km, is home to some three million large mammals and is made up of a diversity of landscapes with the southern region being dominated by the lush grassy plains that draw about two million wildebeest, half a million zebras and some quarter million antelopes to make the hazardous journey in search of pasture when the autumn rains come. Dinner and overnight at Mara Mara Tented Lodge.
