Fly-in Southern Serengeti Calving Season Tour from Zanzibar, with unforgettable Great Migration sightings in Ndutu, dramatic predator action, and seamless access to the Serengeti. You may extend your adventure to Ngorongoro, Tarangire, or Lake Manyara for a richer Northern Tanzania safari experience.

Day 1: Zanzibar – Ndutu

You will fly from Zanzibar Airport at 7:35 a.m. and arrive in Southern Serengeti at 10:50 a.m. On arrival at Ndutu Airstrip, you will meet your professional and well-experienced local English-speaking safari driver guide.

After greetings, he will give you a short pre-safari briefing and then embark on a game drive in Southern Serengeti National Park. The Great Migration features massive groups of wildebeest, zebra, and antelope moving annually across the plains in pursuit of nutrient rich grasses. From December to April, the herds gather around the lush calving grounds near Lake Ndutu in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you can witness thousands of wildebeest giving birth alongside zebras and other antelopes.

Lunch, dinner, and an overnight stay will be at Serengeti Woodlands Camp.

Accommodation:

Serengeti Woodlands Camp

Luxury tented camp located inside Southern Serengeti NP

Day 2: Ndutu – Ngorongoro

After breakfast, start a morning game drive in Ndutu, exploring swamps, woodlands, and savannahs.

This is where millions of wildebeest give birth to their calves when the great migration passes through, often with plenty of predators nearby. It also has all of the essential elements of the Serengeti’s appeal, including big horizons and incredible wildlife, but without the crowds you’d share it with elsewhere.

Late afternoon, drive to Kitela Lodge for Dinner and Overnight.

Accommodation:

Kitela Lodge

Luxury lodge located 2-3hr drive from Ndutu

Day 3: Ngorongoro – Zanzibar

After breakfast, you will drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area for a morning crater tour with a picnic lunch. Descend 2000 feet (over 600 meters) to the floor of the crater (more precisely a caldera). This enclosed ecosphere was formed some two or three million years ago in the massive explosion of a volcano once higher than Kilimanjaro and offers the best

game-viewing opportunities in all of Tanzania. You will have the opportunity to see, in addition to Big Five (elephant, lion, rhino, buffalo, and leopard), wildebeests, gazelles, reedbucks, bushbucks, hartebeests, hippos, antelopes, both Grant’s and Thompson’s gazelles, impalas, as well as over 500 bird species.

After lunch, drive to Arusha and you will be dropped at Arusha Airport for your scheduled flight back to Zanzibar.

Upon Zanzibar Airport, this will be end of our Service.
