Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and after immigration formalities, Wild Pride Safaris’ driver-guide will meet you and transfer you to Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you will hopefully have time to relax and prepare for your Tanzanian safari and Zanzibar.

Day 2: A relaxing day in Arusha
Enjoy a relaxed day at the lodge. Begin with breakfast alongside the resident giraffes, then spend the day at leisure enjoying the lodge gardens, scenic views and peaceful surroundings.
Optional activities include an Arusha city tour, a coffee tour, or canoeing on Lake Duluti.

Day 3: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
After breakfast you will be picked up from your hotel and drive to Tarangire National Park for a game drive with a picnic lunch.
Tarangire National Park (2,600 km²) has an unrivalled landscape of open plains dotted with thousands of baobabs, about 120 km south of Arusha. It is known for its lions and very big herds of buffalo — one of Africa’s little-known gems for lovers of wilderness and solitude. Animals include zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant, Maasai giraffe and fringe-eared oryx; predators include lion, cheetah and leopard. Birders can look out for the endemic ashy starling, rufous-tailed weaver and black-collared lovebird.

Day 4: Tarangire – Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for a crater tour with a picnic lunch.
Descend more than 600 metres to the floor of the crater — more precisely a caldera — an enclosed world of about 300 km², formed two or three million years ago when a volcano once higher than Kilimanjaro collapsed. It offers some of the best game viewing in Tanzania: forest with monkeys and elephants, a lake where you may see flamingos, and open savannah where lions hunt. Besides the Big Five you may see wildebeest, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles, reedbuck, bushbuck, hartebeest, hippos and impala, and many birds.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Highlands – Serengeti
After breakfast, collect your picnic lunch and drive to the central Serengeti for an afternoon game drive.
The Serengeti is renowned as the home of the Great Migration of wildebeest, zebras and antelopes. It is a vast, wild park and home to the Big Five.

Day 6–7: Game drives in the central Serengeti
Two more full days of game drives in the Serengeti await. The pace can be more relaxed, with drives in the cooler early morning and late afternoon in search of the migration — arguably the greatest wildlife show on Earth. Beyond the great herds, look for cheetah, lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, hartebeest, topi, eland, crocodile and Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelles. Birdlife is just as rich, from ostriches and secretary birds to the kori bustard, the world’s heaviest flying bird.

Day 8: Serengeti – Zanzibar
After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive on the way to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Zanzibar (around 11:00, arriving about 14:15). On arrival at Zanzibar Airport you are met and transferred to Royal Zanzibar Beach Resort for six nights in a Superior Ocean Front Suite, all inclusive.

Day 9–13: Zanzibar Island

Day 14: Zanzibar – departure
After breakfast you are picked up from the hotel and transferred to Zanzibar Airport. Depending on your flight time, you can join our optional guided Stone Town tour: the central market, the former slave market, the House of Wonders, the Old Fort, the Palace Museum and walks through the narrow lanes, with time to shop on the way. Later, transfer to Zanzibar Airport for your international flight.
