Day 1

Windhoek

Upon arriving at Hosea Kutako International Airport, you will be meet by your guide with a welcome sign with your names. Tour documents will be handed to you for your tour briefing. Depart to your accommodation in Windhoek. Afternoon explore city centre. Dinner, we recommend at your guesthouse (dinner on own account).

Windhoek

Windhoek is Namibia’s capital, home to an international airport and a plethora of restaurants, shops, entertainment venues and accommodation options. The city is clean, safe and well-organised, with a colonial legacy that is reflected in its many German eateries and shops, and the widespread use of the German language. Windhoek has an interesting mix of historical architecture and modern buildings, many of which are worth a look, including the Alte Feste (Old Fort), the 1896 Christuskirche (Christ Church), and the more contemporary Supreme Court.

 

Overnight: Olive Grove Guesthouse

Olive Grove is a small upmarket accommodation establishment situated close to the city centre in a quiet, peaceful area. The Olive Exclusive, the guesthouse takes homely atmosphere to a different level. Recently completely refurbished, each room has been decorated and painted with new colour schemes allowing a different feel, but with the same elegant and simplistic emphasis on décor. The newly renovated, open-plan kitchen allows guests to see how meals are prepared, while they enjoy a drink in the lounge. The menu was also reinvented and is now fully a la carte, quite unique for a guesthouse. Home-style food is rounded off with great presentation, pushing up the level of the guesthouse dining experience. The upper deck has been revamped into a private dining corner, with two Moroccan-style sections, for guests to get comfy on the large pillows and enjoy the ambience and view from the top. The on-site Wellness Room offers a selection of professional services, to assist guests on their journey towards inner and outer well-being. Whilst each of the ten rooms and one suite cater for every need of the most discerning traveller, the emphasis remains one of simplicity and elegance.

 

Day 2

Sossusvlei

After breakfast, check out and travel to your accommodation in Sosssusvlei. Lunch at Sossuvlei Lodge (lunch on own account). Afternoon take a dip in the pool and evening is spent at leisure. Dinner and overnight.

Sossusvlei

Sossusvlei is where you will find the iconic red sand dunes of the Namib. The clear blue skies contrast with the giant red sand dunes to make this one of the natural wonders of Africa and a photographers heaven. Aside from the attractions at Sossusvlei – Dune 45, Hiddenvlei, Big Daddy and Deadvlei – other attractions in the area include the Sesriem Canyon and Namib-Naukluft National Park, where the mountains of the Namib meet its plains.

 

Overnight: Desert Camp

Accommodation includes dinner, bed & breakfast.

Desert Camp is situated just 5 km from the entrance gate to Sossusvlei. Nestled under centuries old camel thorn trees, Desert Camp offers unsurpassed views over the Desert landscapes and surrounding mountains – An absolute must for the nature lover and photographer!

The 28 affordable self-catering accommodation units are equipped with an en-suite bathroom, shaded veranda with a fitted kitchenette, barbeque, power points and an adjacent parking area.

Facilities at the main building include a fully stocked and serviced bar with big screen television, a sparkling swimming pool and 2 communal bomas with cooking and wash up facilities which are perfect for groups travelling together. Meals can be enjoyed at the nearby Sossusvlei Lodge restaurant and their Adventure Centre offers a range of exciting Desert activities to explore the area. (Own transport required – no shuttles / transfers available)

 

 

Day 3

Sossusvlei

Today deserves an early start; after breakfast, head to Sesriem for your Sossusvlei excursion with your guide; visit Dune 45, Deadvlei, Elim Dunes and Sesriem Canyon making use of your rented vehicle with your guide. Park Fees included. Lunch at Sossuvlei Lodge (lunch on own account). Evening is spent at leisure, dinner and overnight.

Overnight: Desert Camp

Day 4

Swakopmund

After breakfast depart to Swakopmund en-route make a stop at Solitaire for the best Apple pie in Africa and do not miss the photographic opportunity at the Tropic of Capricorn sign. Late lunch in Walvis Bay at Anchors Waterfront Restaurant (lunch on own account). Arriving is Swakopmund, explore Swakopmund centre. Evening explore the beach on foot. Dinner at The Tug Restaurant (dinner on own account).

Swakopmund

Founded in 1892 as the main harbour for German South West Africa, Swakopmund is often described as being more German than Germany. Now a seaside resort, Swakopmund is the capital of the Skeleton Coast tourism area and has plenty to keep visitors happy. The quirky mix of German and Namibian influences, colonial-era buildings and the cool sea breeze make it very popular.

 

Overnight: Royal Sea Star Guesthouse

Accommodation is on bed & breakfast basis.

Royal Sea Star is a beautiful guest house with 9 well-appointed en-suite guest rooms located in the northern part of Swakopmund and within close proximity to the town centre and beach. This guest house is ideal for business travellers or for guests wanting a family holiday.

 

This property offers guests a choice of 1 executive suite, 5 double rooms and 3 family rooms. The executive suite and double rooms can accommodate 2 guests each, and the family rooms can accommodate 3 or 4 guests each. Each room is furnished with three-quarter beds, with one family room having an additional bunk bed. Each bathroom is fitted with a bath and a shower or a shower only. Quality linen and bath towels are provided.

 

Each of the rooms has a flat-screen TV, Netflix, tea- and coffee-making facilities, as well as Wi-Fi access. Guests have access to a shared lounge, a dining room, and secure parking.

 

Day 5

Swakopmund

Today requires an early start; departing to Walvis Bay Waterfront at 07h30 for the Full Day Marine Dune Combo (Tour or 08H30 depart for your Catamaran Dolphin Seal Cruise followed by Sandwich Harbour Tour – clients to choose between Kayak and Catamaran Dolphin Seal Cruise – champagne, soft drinks, cold beers, fresh Oysters and finger food included). Dinner at Brewer and Butcher Restaurant (dinner on own account). (+/- 38km to Walvis Bay waterfront).

 

Overnight: Royal Sea Star Guesthouse

Day 6

Khorixas

After breakfast, depart to Damaraland en-route visit Spitzkoppe, himba village visit (both at Spitzkoppe included). Check in at your lodge. Dinner and overnight. 373 km  Travel Time: 5 Hours 14 Minutes

 

Khorixas

This small town in the Southern Kunene Region of Namibia was once the capital of Damaraland and is home to around 6000 inhabitants, most of whom are from the Damara ethnic group. While the tiny town itself provides travel necessities at the local supermarket, bank, and petrol station, the surrounding area is a nature lover’s paradise with a variety of tourist attractions including the bizarre Welwitschia mirabilis at Burnt Mountain, rare stone formations, the petrified forest, ancient rock engravings and as well as many fascinating geological phenomena (make sure to see the ‘Organ Pipes’). Khorixas is the epitome of a Namibian rural town. It marches to a slow African rhythm and its wonderfully friendly locals offer a warm welcome to all guests.

 

Overnight: Lodge Damaraland

Lodge Damaraland offers charming accommodations in Namibia. The lodge boasts unspoiled natural landscapes and easy access to the Petrified Forest and Twyfelfontein. All rooms are comfortably designed and feature free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, tea/coffee-making facilities, hairdryers, fridges, and mosquito netting. After a relaxing night, guests can start the morning with a delicious breakfast on-site. Day 7

Khorixas

Day spent exploring Damaraland attractions; visit Petrified Forest, Twyfelfontein Main Site, Burnt Mountain and Organ Pipes (park fees included). Evening is spent at leisure. Dinner and overnight.

Day 8

Etosha South

Leaving Damaraland, head to your lodge in Etosha. Visit Etosha National Park with your guide (park fees included). Lunch inside the park (lunch on own account). Evening head to your lodge, dinner and overnight.

Etosha South

Located just south of the boundary of Etosha National Park in northwestern Namibia, Etosha South makes up the southern region of this wild paradise. The area is comprised of a collection of world class private game reserves. The national park can be accessed via the southern entrance at Andersson’s Gate. Visitors can catch a glimpse of a variety of wildlife including: lion, giraffe, elephant, white and black rhino, and a multitude of plains game. Popular activities include: enjoying an open 4×4 safari with an expert guide, half day or full day drives with the option of a picnic lunch with wine on the full day game drive.

 

Overnight: Toshari Lodge (Etosha Gateway)

Day 9

Etosha South

Day spent on a full day Etosha Game drives with your guide, park fees included. Lunch packs inside the park (lunch on own account) and evening at leisure.

Day 10

Windhoek

Breakfast and travel to Windhoek, en-route make a stop at Okahandja wood carving Market for a souvenir or two. Lunch at Butcher Block Steakhouse (lunch on own account). At time to be advised you will head out for your dinner at Joe’s Beehouse (dinner on own account).

Day 11

Departure

After breakfast you will be met by your guide, visit the craft market or city centre (time permitting) before your drop off at the airport. Say goodbye to your guide. Check in and have a safe flight back home.
