This safari begins with a night of game viewing under the stars, from the balcony of a luxurious Tree Hotel, before continuing into the arid lands of Samburu Game Reserve.
For the intrepid holiday maker with the heart of an explorer, this itinerary will take you off the beaten track, into the rugged and dramatic landscape of Northern Kenya, dominated by rare wildlife species and the crocodile-infested Ewaso Nyiro River.
Day 1: Nairobi – Tree Hotel
Depart early morning from Nairobi by road to a Tree Hotel of your choice. Set high in the canopy, above waterholes and natural salt licks, you’ll enjoy the perfect fusion between nature and comfort as you watch wildlife approaching from the luxury of your lodge’s balcony.
Feed your love of adventure as you observe a protective elephant matriarch chaperoning her calf, buffalo bulls fighting over territory, or a leopard prowling a warthog – a truly magical opportunity.
Day 2: Tree Hotel – Samburu Game Reserve
After breakfast, continue your drive along the foothills of Mt. Kenya and across the equator, gently descending into the remoteness of Kenya’s arid Northern Frontier District and Samburu Game Reserve.
Enjoy lunch before setting off on an afternoon game drive. Enjoy the thrill of Kenya’s outback, where crocodiles lurk in brown waters and lions hunt in the shady, perilous groves of the riverine forest. Return at dusk to unwind and revel in the day’s adventures with drinks, dinner, and a peaceful night’s rest.
Day 3: Samburu Game Reserve
As the early morning light sets fire to Samburu’s wild and unique landscape, go in search of the elusive cats, surrounded by a stirring, gentle wind, and an orchestra of birds in your ears.
Return to camp for breakfast and spend the rest of the morning at leisure, either at the poolside or indulging in extra activities. After lunch, spend the afternoon with the rare and beautiful Blue-necked Somali Ostrich, Grevy’s Zebra, and Reticulated Giraffe, followed by dinner on the terrace and another overnight stay.

Day 4: Samburu Game Reserve – Nairobi
Spend one more peaceful and serene morning out discovering Samburu’s rugged terrain, before returning to your lodge for breakfast and then departing for Nairobi.
