Introduction

Welcome to the Pearl of Africa! Your 8-day adventure begins as you land in the vibrant yet calm city of Entebbe, where a warm embrace of Uganda awaits you. Get ready to immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of Uganda’s culture, explore breathtaking natural wonders, and encounter the diverse wildlife that calls this country home.

This Safari takes you to Jinja, the adventure capital of Uganda, which is also the home to the source of Africa’s longest River and whose water flows across Africa to Egypt. You will have the opportunity to explore adrenaline activities in this location.

Afterwards, the Safari will then take you on to Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is a mosaic of diverse ecosystems, captivating landscapes, and an extraordinary array of Wildlife. You will view wildlife on a drive in the Savannah plains and during a boat cruise on the river.
You will also dive into Kalinzu Forest reserve and witness the agile chimpanzees swinging effortlessly through the trees, socializing and foraging, a captivating spectacle that provides a connection to the natural world.
Then Finally, meet the endangered Mountain Gorillas when you go on a trek in Bwindi’s impenetrable forest.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

DAY 1:  Arrival in Entebbe

Upon arrival in Entebbe, a representative from Kange Safaris will be waiting to greet you and escort you to your hotel in Entebbe, a peaceful town located on the shores of Lake Victoria.

During this time, you will receive a briefing about the next 7 days of your trip. Take some time to prepare yourself for the adventures that await you in the coming days.

For the night owls, you can venture into the lively Ugandan nightlife to explore the local rhythms and flavours when you step out to the nightclubs not so far from your hotel in Entebbe.

DAY 2:  Journey to Jinja

Embrace the morning with a delightful breakfast, setting the tone for an exhilarating day. You’re on your way to Jinja, the adventure capital of Uganda, where the mighty Nile awaits.

Today is all about adrenaline and excitement! Brace yourself for an exhilarating white-water rafting experience on the powerful Nile. For those seeking an extra thrill, options like quad biking and bungee jumping are also available.

As the sun begins to set, take some time to relax and soak in the tranquil atmosphere of Jinja as you enjoy the laid-back atmosphere of this charming town. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can choose to explore the nightlife of this historic town.

DAY 3: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Embark on a scenic drive from Jinja to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a jewel in Uganda’s wildlife. This park is known for its diverse ecosystems and is home to an impressive array of wildlife, from majestic lions and graceful antelopes to iconic tree-climbing lions. Get ready to witness nature’s spectacle unfold against the stunning backdrop of the Rwenzori Mountains.

After the long drive, arrive at your Lodge in the evening, check in and relax.

DAY 4: Game Drive and Boat Cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Wake up early for a morning game drive and witness the untamed beauty of the savannah. You will have the opportunity to observe the diverse fauna that calls Queen Elizabeth National Park home.

In the afternoon, set sail on the Kazinga Channel where hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species abound.

Return to your lodge in the evening and take some downtime as you take in your experiences up until this point.

DAY 5: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kalinzu and Transfer to Bwindi

Explore the Lush Kalinzu Forest Reserve to experience a memorable chimpanzee tracking encounter.

Observe the intelligent primates exhibiting various behaviours such as foraging for food, socializing, and communicating through vocalizations and gestures. You may also witness them building nests and displaying territorial behaviour. Please remember to keep a respectful distance from the Chimpanzees to ensure a non-intrusive encounter that contributes to conservation efforts and preserves the natural behaviours of these incredible chimpanzees.

After your chimpanzee tracking experience, drive to the mystical Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its mountain gorillas. Settle in for the night as the magic of the Ugandan forests lingers in your head.

DAY 6: Gorilla Tracking and Batwa Community Encounter

After an early breakfast, you will make your way to the park headquarters where you will receive a comprehensive briefing on gorilla trekking. During this briefing, you will be given essential guidelines and safety procedures to ensure that your experience is a safe enjoyable one.

With this knowledge, you will a group of 8 visitors and venture into the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. This forest Is a mesmerizing realm of ancient trees and lush vegetation.

The trek takes you through the steep slopes and thick vegetation of the forest and lasts between 1-6 hours depending on the location of the gorilla group you are tracking. Once you encounter the majestic mountain gorillas, you will spend an awe-inspiring hour observing their typical day, which includes playing, grooming, eating, and resting. This experience transcends words!

After spending time with gorillas, you will return to the starting point and receive your gorilla tracking certificate as a memento of your experience.

Returning to your lodge, you can savour a well-deserved lunch and share your experiences with fellow travellers.

If your gorilla trek ends early, you might have enough time in the afternoon to go visit the Batwa community. This community is the forest’s previous dwellers and you will gain an insight into their traditional way of life and how it is harmoniously intertwined with the forest.

You will then spend some leisure time at the lodge to relax and let the gorilla experience sink in.

DAY 7: Departure for Entebbe

On your second last day, after enjoying a hearty breakfast before you check out from your lodge, then you will embark on a scenic drive back to Entebbe providing ample opportunities to capture the stunning landscapes.

For lunch, you will stop at Igongo Cultural Centre, where you can also learn about the Ankole Culture.

Additionally, we will make a stop at the Equator crossing point in Kayabwe, where you can see the Monuments that signify the geographical location of the Equator. You can even place one foot in the Northern Hemisphere and the other in the Southern Hemisphere for a memorable photo opportunity. This location also has shops offering souvenirs and local crafts.

Upon arriving in Entebbe, you will check into your hotel and relish the last evening in Uganda.

DAY 8: Check out and drive to the Airport.

On the last day of your Safari, check out of your hotel and make your way to White Sands Beach for some relaxation before heading to the Airport to catch your flight out of Uganda. Take this opportunity to reflect on the unforgettable memories you have made during your journey through the heart of Uganda.
