Nairobi National Park is located just 7 km from Nairobi’s city center, making it one of the only national parks in the world bordering a major capital city. It covers 117 km² of open plains and riverine forests.
Animals Found:
The park hosts lions, leopards, buffalo, black rhinos, giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, and abundant birdlife. It is one of the best places in Kenya to see black rhinos in their natural habitat.
Best Time to Visit:
The best time is during the dry months: June–September and January–February, when wildlife congregates near water sources. It is ideal for quick half-day or full-day safaris.
Weather Conditions:
The climate is mild, with daytime temperatures of 20–28°C. The rains fall in April–May and November, often making the park greener and more scenic.
