4-Day Affordable Tanzania Safari

Overview

Experience an incredible 4-day Tanzania lodge safari, featuring Ngorongoro Crater, the renowned Serengeti National Park, and Tarangire National Park, famous for its elephants. Additionally, enjoy a cultural visit to a Maasai village in the Ngorongoro Highlands.

Tour Plan

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

After breakfast at your hotel or lodge in Arusha, meet our safari coordinator and your driver guide for a short briefing. Depart for Tarangire National Park via Arusha town for any last-minute purchases. Drive along the Masai Steppe and through numerous villages to the Tarangire gate. As the fifth largest national park in Tanzania, Tarangire is located at the base of the Great East African Rift Valley. The park, characterized by high hills and lowlands, features acacia woodlands and enormous baobab trees, which dwarf the animals beneath them. The park’s landscape is defined by the Tarangire River.

Accommodation: Marera Valley Lodge
Meals & Drinks: Lunch & dinner (Breakfast not included)

Day 2: Karatu – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park. The drive takes you through the picturesque highlands of Karatu to the Ngorongoro gate. Stop at the Crater viewpoint for stunning pictures of the Crater floor before continuing through Malanja depression to the Serengeti plains. Along the way, visit a Maasai village for a cultural encounter. Maasai warriors will invite you to explore their homes and share stories of their way of life. Engage with the community, ask questions, and take pictures. Experience their famous song and dance, which involves high jumping.

Accommodation: Tanzania Bush Camps Central Serengeti
Meals & Drinks: All meals included

Day 3: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Start the day early with breakfast and a lunch box for a morning game drive in the Serengeti. You may spot cat families on the road, as they avoid the morning mist, and nocturnal predators returning from a night of hunting. Enjoy breakfast in the bush before heading to where the Wildebeest Migration is concentrated, spending ample time with the herds. Whether or not you see the Migration, the Serengeti remains a spectacular destination. In the afternoon, drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area with an en-route game drive, arriving at Rhino Lodge for sunset, dinner, and overnight.

Accommodation: Rhino Lodge
Meals & Drinks: All meals included

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha

Descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater early in the morning for an exceptional game viewing experience. Often called the eighth natural wonder of the world, the Crater supports a large number of animal species due to its year-round water supply and vegetation. See herds of wildebeest, buffalo, zebra, eland, topi, warthog, hippos, African elephants, and the rare black rhino. The Crater is also home to many predators, including lions, cheetahs, hyenas, jackals, and the elusive leopard. Visit Lake Magadi, a shallow alkaline lake on the Crater’s southwest corner, often hosting hippos and flamingos. With some luck, you might see the Big Five in a single day. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the Crater floor.

Meals & Drinks: Lunch & dinner (Breakfast not included)
